adrenaline-pumping scene from home. The one ingredient in a
novel that cannot be missed is the stubbornness to stay glued
to the chair and keep punching. (I'm not really asleep, just
resting my eyes.)The Mudsox name? At one time, the Mudsox softball team was one of the worst teams around, but we hated to miss any games. If rain threatened to cancel a game, the 'Sox would haul tools out of the cars and clean up the field. One player commented on our always "Muddy Sox." The name stuck (like mud) for many years.
