Reign of the Gray-Eyed Kings
Denthos Merdian is a blue-eyed prince in the line of the Volnor Gray-Eyed
Kings. Den's father, King Tothos Merdian, is in the midst of dealing with the
renegade Timber Lord when he is struck down by a magical spell of madness.
The 17-year-old prince must step forward to stop the Timber Lord's demand
for Volnor lands and to direct the Volnor Shield and Fist armies against the
Timber Lord's Helm force.
Sensing an assassin's hand close to the throne, Ebelos, the high priest of
Beralk, advises that Den take refuge with a wizard named Dermeth. Den's
bodyguard, an immense Westerner named Rek, leads a small band to Dermeth's
castle.
Den must defend the realm against the rebellious Timber Lord, treason in the
royal court, the Timber Lord's magical ally and an immense horde of barbarian
Ralg. To complicate his effort, Beralk (the Volnor god) has turned his back on
his worshipers. Only the young prince holds the key to victory...
